Give Me a Break

Training is fun but taking breaks is a key part of any fitness routine. Whether you are running for the very first time or have trained for multiple races, there is always a risk of injury. Here are some signs your body needs a break.

  1. A steady decrease from typical performance
  2. Very sore muscles 
  3. Extreme fatigue or tiredness
  4. Injury
  5. Illness
  6. Little enjoyment from exercise

Taking a break doesn’t mean you are quitting. Instead look at this time as an opportunity to regroup, check progress on your goals, and allow your body to build new muscles! Try applying this mindset to other areas of your life too. A day off can be good for your body and your mind.
